Skill Sprout Parent Symposium
This 2.5 hour seminar includes:
- "Ask the Expert" multi-disciplinary panel
- 4 Educational Breakout Sessions (choose one based upon your interest):
Understanding Challenging Behavior(Behavior 101) - This class will help you understand challenging behaviors and what to do about them! Whether you are concerned about big behaviors or small behaviors, this class is designed to help! This class is taught by our ABA staff.
Fun & Effective Sensory Strategies - This class will teach you fun and effective strategies to help with your child's sensory processing needs. This class is taught by our occupational therapy staff.
Increasing Your Child's Social Confidence - This class will teach you how to best help your child increase his/her social confidence. We will discuss increasing your child's ability to engage in play with others, initiate conversations, understand his/her role in reciprocal interactions and most importantly, how to become more confident in his/her emerging skills! This is taught by one of our trained Mental Health Clinicians.
Low and High Tech Home Communication Strategies - This class will teach you how to use different communication systems (e.g. picture exchange systems or assistive communication devices) within your home environment. This class targets increasing communication in the home. This class is taught by our speech therapy staff.

Each breakout session includes a “make it-take it” activity!
We invite you to bring friends, family, or other professionals that know your child.
FREE childcare is available for Skill Sprout clients and their siblings. Childcare registration is required.
*This event will be contingent upon minimum enrollment. Should the symposium at your preferred location be cancelled due to low enrollment, you may have the option of attending at another Skill Sprout office location.
