Early Start Autism Program

Are you worried your child may not be ready for a classroom setting?
Does your child have difficulty learning in groups?


Skill Sprout’s Early Start Autism Program helps prepare young children with autism and developmental delays to participate and learn in individual and group settings. This therapeutic program provides 15 hours per week of direct one-on-one services that build the necessary foundation for independent learning and provides group learning opportunities for generalization of skills and preparation for the school environment.

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM OFFER

A multi-disciplinary team will work directly with your child and meet regularly to assess your child’s individualized needs and progress on targeted objectives, utilizing a trans-disciplinary approach to maximize your child’s progress. A Clinical Case Coordinator will be assigned to your family to assist in coordinating services, parent training, and accessing community resources and involvement.

Accelerate Therapy Program

Take advantage of the summer months to accelerate your child’s learning! Skill Sprout’s Accelerate Therapy Program provides a team of therapists working together with an individualized treatment plan designed to meet your child’s needs.

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM OFFER

During a 9-week therapy program, participants will receive 15 hours of intensive therapeutic intervention per week in a combination of individual and group formats.

The treatment team will work closely together to achieve each family’s specific goals. In addition to direct therapy, your therapists will meet regularly to discuss your childs progress and ongoing needs. Clinical Case Coordinators are assigned to assist families with service coordination and provide parent trainings and support throughout the program.

Jumpstart Therapy Program

Let's Move: Brain Bootcamp

This group includes both physical and learning activities to target gross and fine motor skill development, problem solving, cooperation and sharing, all while engaging in fun play-based activities with peers! Groups will be divided by age and include a group for 4-6 year olds
and 7-10 year olds.

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM OFFER

Skill Sprout’s Let’s Move: Brain Bootcamp Group was developed by a multi-disciplinary team with the goal of enhancing children’s development in the areas of motor, social-emotional, and cognitive skills based on research regarding the importance of play in promoting healthy child development. Physical activity not only helps a child be healthy, but can also improve motor skills, self-esteem, and cognitive functioning.

Skill Sprout’s Let’s Move: Brain Bootcamp Group includes both physical and learning activities to target gross and fine motor skill development, problem solving, cooperation and sharing, all while engaging in fun play-based activities with peers! Let’s Move: Brain Bootcamp Group is led by Skill Sprout’s exceptional OT/COTA staff.

Alternative Augmentative Communication Program

This group will help prepare your child to use their communication devices in a
social setting. Alternative Augmentative Communication Group will meet weekly
for 1 hour sessions for 9 weeks.

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM OFFER

Skill Sprout will now offer an Augmentative Communication (AAC) Group to help prepare children to use their device in a social group setting. Through a small group instruction facilitated by a Certified Speech Language Pathologist your child will acquire the skills to functionally communicate within a group. By providing AAC within a group setting, children are able to observe and experience AAC as a common modality of communication increasing their interest and motivation.

Handwriting Group

This group will assist your child to learn how to color, draw, count, and write letters in a developmental sequence. This Handwriting group is led by Skill Sprout’s exceptional OT/COTA staff.

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM OFFER

This group is designed to assist children ages 5-7 learn how to color, draw,count, and write letters in a developmental sequence using the principles of the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum. Your child will learn to print letters and numbers through imitation, copying, and ultimately independent writing. We will use a variety of multi-sensory activities to address all styles of learning and to make handwriting fun! Weekly activities for completion at home will be included in this group to assist your child in building efficient handwriting skills.
