EARLY START AUTISM PROGRAM

Skill Sprout’s Early Start Autism Program helps prepare young children with autism and developmental delays to participate and learn in individual and group settings. This therapeutic program provides 17.5 hours per week of direct one-on-one services that build the necessary foundation for independent learning and provides group learning opportunities for generalization of skills and preparation for the school environment.

SESSION DATES

Ongoing throughout the year, sessions typically run Monday - Friday, 8:00-11:30 OR 11:30-3:00.

WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM OFFER

This therapeutic program provides 17.5 hours per week of services that build the necessary foundation for independent learning and provides group learning opportunities for generalization of skills and preparation for the school environment. The Early Start Autism Program is designed similar to a school learning environment in order to teach the foundational skills necessary for your child to be successful in a classroom, such as coping with transitions, positive peer interactions and following instructions. Child specific transition plans are provided to integrate clients into an educational setting along with support to school personnel.

WHAT WILL YOUR CHILD LEARN?

The program consists of the following weekly therapies, all geared toward preparing your child for classroom and group learning:

ABA Therapy

ABA Therapy focuses on observable socially significant behaviors to improve a child's functional communication, social skills, group performance, daily living skills, adaptive skills and reduction of challenging behavior in their environment.

Social Skills Therapy

Social Skills Therapy focuses on the generalization of a child's social, communication, and play skills into a group atmosphere to facilitate development of successful interpersonal relationships.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy focuses on meeting a child's sensory, motor, and daily living needs to enhance his or her ability to learn in a group environment.

Speech and Language Therapy

Speech Therapy focuses on communication and social language objectives to improve a child's ability to communicate wants and needs, follow directions, and socially interact in a group atmosphere.
