Mental Health/Post-Doctoral Psychology Fellowship

The Mental Health/Post-Doctoral Psychology fellow’s role is to provide quality care and support to clients and families receiving Skill Sprout services as well as assist in projects and tasks aimed at growing Skill Sprout’s innovative mental health and psychological assessment programs. It is a full-time position. This position reports directly to an assigned clinically licensed supervising clinician.


  • Provide therapy services with Skill Sprout clients within the mental health department, which may include social skills treatment and/or individual, family and group counseling, and/or within the ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Program
  • Conduct diagnostic clinical intake interviews with clients at the time of the initial service delivery, as needed
  • Use professional literature and evidence-based research to make clinical decisions
  • Develop individualized and appropriate therapy plans based on family priorities and evaluation results
  • Create measurable, data-driven, and behavioral-base treatment plans
  • Provide regular data-based progress monitoring and modification of treatment goals and interventions as needed
  • Accurately and reliably collect data in therapy sessions as outlined by program procedure
  • Complete comprehensive case records review prior to evaluations
  • Determine and conduct appropriate and individualized psychological evaluations based on presenting concerns, including interview format, standardized testing, and direct observations
  • Participate in multidisciplinary Autism Diagnostic Clinic as deemed appropriate
  • Conduct developmental and autism screenings as deemed appropriate
  • Collaborate across disciplines for most accurate diagnosis, as needed
  • Accurately interpret skill level/needs within various domains
  • Develop appropriate recommendations based on evaluation results
  • Complete reports with professional language, toughly, and in a timely manner
  • Complete clinical documentation accurately and within set timelines
  • Provide counseling-based, professional and empathic results meeting with parents/guardian following assessments
  • Consult with other clinicians regarding client and family needs within a trans-disciplinary service delivery model
  • Collaborate with supervisor to initiate services for clients and families
  • Consult directly with families regarding services and in-home intervention ideas
  • Attend all team meetings and trainings, and complete all necessary paperwork as directed by supervisor or administrative staff
  • Participate in marketing events for the department and company
  • Commit to and follow a weekly schedule, documenting all services and activities
  • Meet regularly and consult with supervisor for support and clinical supervision
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times when working with other Skill Sprout staff and clients or families
  • Other duties as assigned


The Post-Doctoral Psychology Fellow will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Candidates will have received a Doctoral degree in clinical psychology or related field
  • Preferred prior experience working with children with disabilities; experience working with typically developing children will be considered
  • Strong writing skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with technology programs including comfort with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology programs
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Flexibility with scheduling and work hours as client and company needs change
  • Must be able to continue direct service therapy hours over school breaks (Christmas break, Spring Break, etc)
