ABA Junior Internship

The ABA Junior Intern’s role is to provide quality and professional support to the consultants, lead line therapists, and line therapists in Skill Sprout’s summer program, as well as quality and professional support to clinicians within the ABA Department. This position will report directly to an ABA Consultant in an assigned region. This is a part-time, volunteer-based position.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Prepare treatment materials as directed by ABA Consultants or Lead Lines
  • Provide in office respite care for Skill Sprout clients and siblings if needed during events and trainings
  • Provide operational and clerical support to ABA Consultants and/or Lead Lines
  • Observe ABA sessions and reliably and consistently collect client performance data for the purpose of reliability and validity screenings
  • Interact with client and client families in office during therapy times to assist with greetings and check in
  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times when working with other Skill Sprout staff and clients or families
  • Commit to and follow a weekly schedule
  • Provide direct intervention with select clients under the supervision and coaching of lead therapist or consultant
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

The ABA Junior Intern will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Candidates will be at least entering Freshman year of High School
  • Preferred prior experience interacting with children, preference given to those who have experience interacting with children with disabilities, those who have completed a CPR training, or those who have completed a certified babysitter training course
  • Strong writing skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Familiarity with technology programs including comfort with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology programs
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to follow directions (both oral and written)
  • Ability to take direction on job performance
  • Flexibility with scheduling and work hours as client and company needs change
